Hagerstown Suns News Release

The Suns are excited to remind fans that tomorrow, May 6th, is the first of two Education Days, presented by Antietam Cable/Regional Cable/Ad Channel 55, at Hagerstown's Municipal Stadium. 3,000 secondary school children will descend on Municipal Stadium for the 10:35 am ballgame to learn how baseball can be educational as well as fun!

Children will receive education packets at the ball game. In addition, local educators have received a curriculum guide with a "Baseball is Education" theme that uses baseball as a tool for learning. Each lesson plan in the guide provides teachers with activities for the students before, during and after the game. Education stations will be set up on the stadium's concourse for additional experiential learning for all participating students. Throughout the day, students will be "hands-on" at the ballpark by participating in activities such as a press conference, radio broadcasting and announcing the game itself!

The second Education Day at the ballpark will be tailored to elementary school children, and will take place on June 2nd. Please note that both of these Education Day ballgames will be played at the special time of 10:35 am!

Tickets are available for all fans and can be purchased at the ticket office beginning at 9am tomorrow morning.

The Hagerstown Suns, of the South Atlantic League, are the Class A affiliate of the National League Champion San Francisco Giants. The current home stand runs through May 10th, and the home season runs through August 24th. Ticket packages and sponsorships are available by calling 301/791-6266.
