Justin Nicolino didn't factor into the decision after allowing three runs (all earned) on seven hits while walking two batters and striking out one Baron over seven innings of work. After giving up one run in the second inning and two in the third, Nicolino faced the minimum 12 batters over the course of his final four shutout innings.

Collin Cargill (W, 2-1) surrendered three runs (one earned) on three hits in three innings while striking out one Baron and not walking a batter in his winning Thursday night outing.

Despite shutting out the Suns over the course of seven innings and leaving in line for the win, Barons starter Chris Beck did not factor into Thursday night's decision after allowing just four hits and one walk while striking out one batter.

Kevin Vance (BS, 2) blew the save by giving up a pair of runs (both earned) in 1.1 innings, giving up three hits and two walks in his appearance.

Bryan Blough (L, 2-2; BS, 2) blew Birmingham's second save opportunity of the night and took the loss after coughing up the game-winning two-run homer. Blough was charged with one run (earned) on one hit while not recording an out in the loss.

Back-to-back doubles for the Barons to start the top of the second inning opened up the scoring on Thursday night. Rangel Ravelo came in to score on Kevan Smith's RBI double into the left-center gap to put Birmingham ahead 1-0 in the top of the second.

Birmingham added to its lead with a pair of runs in the top of the third. A Christian Marrero RBI single and a Rangel Ravelo RBI double furthered Birmingham's lead to 3-0 after the top of the third inning.

The Barons added two insurances run in the top of the ninth to open up a 5-0 lead. Birmingham scored a run on a wild pitch by Collin Cargill and added a second run on Luis Sierra's two-out RBI single to push the lead to five.

But Jacksonville did not go quietly in the ninth inning, scoring five times to tie the game up and force extra innings. The Suns sent 10 men to the plate in the inning and received a bases loaded walk from Alex Burg, a two-run double from Terrence Dayleg and RBI singles from Brent Keys and Austin Barnes to tie the game at 5-5 in the bottom of the ninth inning.

Birmingham re-took the lead in the 10th inning, with Christian Marrero's (HR, 7) one-out solo home run to right putting the Barons back in front by a 6-5 score in the top of the 10th.

But the Suns were not to be denied on Thursday night, as Alex Burg (HR, 7) sent a two-run walk-off homer over the wall in left field to catapult the Suns to an incredible 7-6 victory in 10 innings.

The Suns and Barons will be back at it on Friday, with first pitch set for 7:05 p.m. ET. The Suns are yet to announce their starter while the Barons will send out right-hander Myles Jaye (1-9, 6.59).
