CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. –- The Suns gave starter Joel Hanrahan more than enough run support as Jacksonville beat the Chattanooga Lookouts, 8-1, on Thursday in front of 2,005 fans at BellSouth Park.

Hanrahan (3-1) earned the victory while tying a career best with 10 strikeouts. He scattered five hits and walked one over seven innings. Hanrahan also was an offensive catalyst. With the Suns leading 1-0 in the second inning on Victor Diaz's RBI single, Hanrahan hit a comebacker to the mound with runners at second and third. Lookouts pitcher John Koronka bobbled the ball and then overthrew first baseman Chris Haas, allowing Hanrahan to reach and both runs to score. Koronka was given a fielding and throwing error on the play.

Koronka (1-2) earned the loss, allowing six runs and left in the sixth inning after allowing a two-run home run to Jason Repko. It was Repko's second home run of the season and gave the Suns (10-11) a 6-0 lead.

Brian Shackleford relieved Koronka and walked Hanrahan. Abercrombie singled, moving Hanrahan to third. On a delayed double steal, Hanrahan stole home to given Jacksonville its seventh run.

Chattanooga (6-14) got its lone run in the sixth when Ray Olmedo homered to lead off the inning.

Diaz and Nick Alvarez led the Suns with three hits apiece. Koyie Hill and Tarrik Brock each had two hits for Jacksonville, which tied a season-high with 14 hits.

Right-hander Tom Farmer (0-1, 2.70 ERA) is slated to start for the Suns against Lookouts righty Josh Hall (1-2, 3.38) at 7:15 p.m. Friday at BellSouth Park.
