LAKEWOOD, NJ - Hagerstown scored two unearned runs in the first inning and three Suns combined on a three-hit shutout as the BlueClaws fell 2-0 on Saturday at FirstEnergy Park.

The Suns (8-14/38-54) have taken the first two in the series from the BlueClaws (7-14/37-54) and can sweep the three-game set on Sunday.

Hagerstown got two unearned runs in the first inning off Dominic Pipkin. An error by second baseman Luis Garcia allowed one to score and Israel Pineda's SAC fly put the Suns up 2-0.

Pipkin (3-3) gave up just two unearned runs over five innings, the second time he's finished five innings in a start this season.

Jhordany Mezquita followed Pipkin and threw four scoreless innings of his own.

However, the BlueClaws couldn't solve the Suns pitchers. Starter Reid Schaller threw five scoreless innings while Matt Cronin threw a scorless sixth and Angel Guillen retired all nine batters he faced for his fourth save.

McCarthy Tatum had two doubles for the BlueClaws and Yerwin Trejo added a bunt single.

The teams finish their series on Sunday at 1:05 pm. RHP Victor Santos starts for the BlueClaws opposite RHP Joan Adon.
