JACKSONVILLE, FL - The 2009 Southern League Champion Jacksonville Suns begin their quest for back-to-back titles on Thursday, April 8, when they take on the West Tenn Diamond Jaxx. The Suns continue the celebration all season as family fun returns to the Baseball Grounds!

The title defense begins on opening night, April 8, against the Diamond Jaxx. Come out early for a pre-game presentation as the 2009 Suns will receive their championship rings! Plus the first 3,000 fans will receive a full-metal replica championship ring that is modeled after the Suns' official championship rings, courtesy of Underwood's Jewelers, First Coast News 12 & 25 and 100.7 Country Legends! And be sure not to miss the national Ocean Spray Mobile Tour!

Friday night is full of action with Family Faith Night, Inflatamaniacs and the first Friday Family Fireworks of the season! Join the Suns for a night of faith and fellowship with a postgame Christian concert from Dove Award-winning artist Mark Schultz. Enjoy some great in-game entertainment as the Inflatamaniacs make their debut at the Baseball Grounds, and stick around after the game for the NAPA Friday Family Fireworks. All fans will receive a magnet schedule of the 2010 season, sponsored by Process Master, WJXT TV-4 and 96.9 The Eagle. Plus the Ocean Spray Mobile Tour returns!

On Saturday join us again as the loveable Inflatamaniacs return for an encore performance! The first 2,000 families through the gate will also receive a Suns championship calendar, sponsored by UF&Shands, CBS 47 and Clear Channel Radio, and all fans will get a 2010 magnet schedule!

Sunday, April 11, is Family Photo Day and Hometown Heroes Day at the Baseball Grounds! Bring your kids early as families can join Suns players and coaches for photos on the field from 1:30-2:30. Sponsored by Subway and Lite 96.1. Join us as we welcome one of Jacksonville's baseball greats, Rick Wilkins, as part of the Suns' Hometown Heroes series, presented by The Florida Times-Union. The Inflatamaniacs perform one final time, and all kids receive an Inflatamaniacs coloring book! Plus, kids can show their JTA youth summer pass for a free general admission ticket, and one lucky family will win a four-pack of tickets to a luxury Skybox to see the Florida Marlins in Miami, courtesy of Radio Disney! After the game, Kids Run the Bases, presented by Captain D's Seafood Kitchen!

The Suns host the first Celebration of Reading Day for the 2010 season on Monday, April 12! This special 11:05am matinee welcomes schoolkids from across the area for an afternoon of baseball plus a special banner contest.

Tickets for all Suns home games are currently on sale through the Suns Box Office at (904) 358-2846, or online at www.jaxsuns.com . Tickets are $6.50 for general admission, $9.50 for reserved seating and $12.50 for Homeplate Box seating. Limited sponsorships, season tickets and group packages are still available. The 2010 season is presented by Everbank, official banking partner of the Jacksonville Suns. The Suns are the Double-A Affiliate of the Florida Marlins and a member of the Southern League of Professional Baseball.
