Sundogs Unveil New Red Jersey

PRESCOTT VALLEY, Ariz. - The Arizona Sundogs Hockey Club unveiled its new red jersey for the 2009-10 Central Hockey League season on Wednesday. The red jersey is the second of three new sweaters the Sundogs will introduce this season and will be worn on the road and at select home games at Tim's Toyota Center during the first half of the year.
"We decided to make the red jersey one of our primary sweaters in conjunction with this season's marketing efforts," said Sundogs Head Coach and General Manager Marco Pietroniro. "We hope to red-out Tim's Toyota Center throughout the season in an effort to make it one of the league's toughest buildings for visiting teams to play in. With the support of our great fans, I'm confident we'll do just that."
Arched across the chest of the red sweater is the word 'Sundogs' with the player's number centered below. As is the case with the team's white jerseys, the club's alternate logo can be found on the right shoulder and the Arizona state flag on the left shoulder.
A solid black band runs up both sides of the jersey and is accented with narrow gold, white and black piping. The same pattern can be found on the cuffs of the uniform. The neck of the jersey features a red collar and black lace-up closure.
The numbers on the red sweater are primarily black with a white and gold outline. The nameplate will also be black with a white outline. The red uniform will be complimented by black pants, black gloves and a black helmet with red socks featuring alternating black and gold stripes.
Arizona will wear the red jerseys for the first time this weekend as it visits the Rio Grande Valley Killer Bees and the Corpus Christi IceRays on Friday and Saturday.
The Sundogs will introduce their alternate black jersey in the near future. The red jersey will become the team's home jersey midway through the season as the CHL changes from white to dark sweaters.
