Sundogs Swept by Brahmas, 7-1

Prescott Valley, AZ - The Arizona Sundogs were swept by the Ft. Worth Brahmas in a 7-1 loss Wednesday night at Tim's Toyota Center.

Brahmas, John Snowden tallied five goals, four of them registered in the second frame. Ft. Worth struck first 8:56 into the first period with an unassisted goal from Austin Mayer. Snowden scored his first goal 1:25 into the second period when he sinked the puck in the net with a slapper. Less than nine minutes later Snowden scored again and his next two goals would come within five minutes of each other and both on the power play. Snowden's third goal was tallied at 11:14, after Adam Smyth was called for cross checking. With 5:26 remaining in the second period Chad Nehring was issued two minutes for holding resulting in Snowden's fourth goal. Kevin Petovello broke the Sundogs' nearly scoreless 40 minutes after he chipped the puck past Kristofer Westblom registering a power play goal. Jake Hauswirth and Mario Larocque both received the assists.

Snowden would finish his night with his fifth goal just three minutes into the final period. Mayer also registered his second goal of the night a minute later, pushing the Brahmas to a six goal lead and forcing Arizona to send in relief goalie Adam Russo for the remaining sixteen minutes.

David Brown took the loss for the Sundogs making 25 saves. Arizona was outshot 35-18. The Sundogs were 1-3 on the power play and the Brahmas were 2-4 on the power play. The Sundogs head back on the road to face the Tulsa Oilers on Friday and the Quad City Mallards on Saturday. The Sundogs' next home game will be on Saturday, February 23 at 8:05pm at Tim's Toyota Center.
