Arizona Sundogs News Release
PRESCOTT VALLEY, Ariz. - The 2008 Central Hockey League Ray Miron President's Cup Champion Arizona Sundogs and The Arizona Sundogs Foundation, in recognition of National Breast Cancer Awareness Month, made a donation of $15,000 to Phoenix-based Susan G. Komen for the Cure during the first intermission of Wednesday night's game against the New Mexico Scorpions.
Bonnie Lee Tucker, community ambassador for Phoenix-based Susan G. Komen for the Cure and two-time survivor of breast cancer, accepted the donation from Arizona Sundogs President Steve Cherwonak. Tucker was joined by husband, Stephen, daughter, Laura, and newborn grandson, Ronan.
Also in recognition and support of National Breast Cancer Awareness Month, the Arizona Sundogs have partnered with Pepsi and Safeway to help raise money for breast cancer research and awareness. During the month of October, fans can visit Safeway Grocery Stores in Northern Arizona and purchase raffle tickets to enter to win four tickets in the Pepsi Suite and a post-game player meet-and-greet at a future Sundogs game. A winner will be selected from each participating store. All winners will also have a chance to win a team-signed Arizona Sundogs jersey. All proceeds will benefit Susan G. Komen for the Cure.
