Rob Guinn To Be Remembered This Weekend
October 23, 2008 - Central Hockey League (CHL)
New Mexico Scorpions News Release
[RIO RANCHO, N.M.]-The New Mexico Scorpions will host two games at the Santa Ana Star Center this weekend. Former captain Rob Guinn will be honored throughout the two days.
The New Mexico Scorpions lost former captain Rob Guinn to a car accident this past summer. He left behind his wife Brooke and a newborn daughter, Olivia.
This weekend the Scorpions and Graphic Connection will be raising money for Olivia's future. Graphic Connection will have shirts for sale for $10 with 100% of the proceeds to benefit the family.
"A few years ago we partnered with the Scorpions and raised $1,000 for Hurricane Katrina victims," said Scott Creagan, CEO Graphic Connection. "I expect our great fans to raise even more money for a cause so close to our hearts."
In addition, the Scorpions will have several auctions in place on the concourse during the weekend's games. The featured item will be the final jersey worn by Guinn during the 2006-07 season when he was the Scorpions' captain. It is a red jersey that features the captain's "C" on the front.
There will also be a tribute to Guinn during pregame ceremonies on Friday and Saturday night. We ask the fans to come out to the games and help pay tribute to one of our own.
