Sundogs Acquire Jarman, Smyth From Mississippi At Trade Deadline

PRESCOTT VALLEY, Ariz. - The Arizona Sundogs, in conjunction with the Mississippi RiverKings, announced today they have acquired forwards Kevin Jarman and Adam Smyth from the Northern Conference club in exchange for future considerations. The two teams completed the deal prior to the Central Hockey League's 3:00pm (CST) trade deadline Monday.
Jarman, 24, appeared in 36 games for Mississippi this season tallying four goals, nine assists and 34 penalty minutes (PIM). The 6-foot, 197-pound forward twice collected four-game point streaks this year including three goals and an assist in his first four games to open the season.
The former fourth round selection (103rd overall) of the Columbus Blue Jackets in the 2003 NHL Entry Draft skated in 45 contests with the former Youngstown SteelHounds in 2007-08 recording 19 goals, 16 assists and 88 PIM.
The native of Aurora, Ontario was called-up to the American Hockey League's (AHL) Syracuse Crunch for eight games that same season picking up a pair of goals and two PIM.
Smyth, 26, skated in 45 contests with the RiverKings this season prior to being dealt to Arizona collecting five points (2g/3a) and 193 PIM.
Last season the 6-foot-1, 225-pound forward led Mississippi and finished third overall in the CHL with 271 PIM. The Wiarton, Ontario, native has gathered 585 PIM in 127 regular season games in the CHL and more than 1,300 PIM in 319 pro games.
