Orange County Flyers News Release

The Flyers backed up yesterday's emotional victory with an 8-2 win over the Chico Outlaws on Tuesday night in Fullerton.

Jeremy Sugarman (2-3) got the victory, while striking out eight. He gave up five hits and one earned run in nine innings of work.

Peanut Williams three-run homerun gave the Flyers a 3-2 lead in the 1st inning. His two-run homerun in the 2nd inning capped a five run Flyers rally.

In that five-run 2nd, Toshi Sasa had an RBI triple and Rich Pohle had an RBI single. The Flyers hit for the cycle as a team in the 2nd inning with Peanut's homerun, Sasa's triple, Jacob Wallis's double and Pohle's single.

Sugarman did not allow an extra base hit in the game and only walked two. His eight strikeouts were a season high.

Brian Kroll got the loss despite retiring the last 13 batters he faced.

The Flyers moved their record to 14-17, while Chico dropped to 17-15.

Todd Gelatka will start tomorrow against Chico at 7:05 pm at Goodwin Field.
