Stunners tryout vs. thunderstorms

July 28, 2006 - American Basketball Association (ABA)
St. Louis Stunners News Release

St. Louis, MI. The ABA St. Louis Stunners recently held their first tryout camp. Players from all over the country attended the camp including some uninvited guests - tornados. A series of thunder storms and tornados touchdown in the St. Louis area this past week left a million households and businesses without power. Despite the loss of power, the Stunners still went through their two day tryout camp.

"Talk about going through your storms. We'll make it even though we're still in the dark," explained Earl Childress, president of the Stunners. Literally after 9 days, the Stunners corporate office is still without power. "If the Stunners pull through a storm of this magnitude, maybe we can handle the storms of operating a professional basketball team," he added. "This has been quite a week."
