More about Do Your Best, Never Quit in Buffalo

July 28, 2006 - American Basketball Association (ABA)
Buffalo Silverbacks News Release

Buffalo, NY. The ABA Buffalo Silverbacks received a letter from Sil Dan, Jr., Boys Varsity Basketball Coach at Cardinal O'Hara High School in Tonawanda, NY in relation to their Do Your Best, Never Quit Seminar.

"Recently the Cardinal O'Hara High School boy's basketball camp had the pleasure of hearing Modie Cox give a presentation to campers and parents on the last day of camp.

I would like to express my heartfelt thanks to Modie and the Silverback for a powerful presentation of an individual who has overcome some "huge roadblocks" in his personal life and the way in which he presented himself and the Silverback Organization.

The "basketball community" knows of the past issues with the Buffalo Rapids BUT with an individual like Modie Cox speaking from the heart and delivering a new message - the community will soon forget.

I have been involved in basketball at every level for the past 25 years and have to say that this has been the first time I have been approached by parents (non players of mine) at the camp and even on the streets to thank me for teaching their son some skills of the game and for bringing in a guest speaker who told the bold truth.

I can see the Silverbacks being a new attraction for all the Western New York Basketball faithful - Modie is bringing that message back to Western New York."

The ABA Buffalo Silverbacks and companies such at Creditors Interchange should be commended for supporting initiatives like this that seek to better the WNY community. Note: OurSports Central no longer actively covers the American Basketball Association (ABA) as a professional league due in part to its inability to publish and play a schedule and the transitory nature of many of its teams.
