Strikers Unveil Fully-Custom INARIA Uniforms
March 30, 2016 - North American Soccer League (NASL)
Fort Lauderdale Strikers News Release
FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. - Aboard the Anticipation IV on the New River in Downtown Fort Lauderdale, the Strikers unveiled their uniforms for the 2016 season. The fully-custom kits, produced by INARIA, were an instant hit with players, media and fans.
For the 2016 season, the club designed a uniform set for a new generation of Strikers: one that both creates an exciting new look for the club yet keeps the Red & Gold tradition alive and well.
The 2016 primary jersey is the classic Strikers design, incorporating the iconic Red & Gold hoops paired with black shorts and socks. Both red shorts and yellow socks can be paired with the primary uniform, giving the team three possible uniform combinations and full flexibility when it comes to choosing their look on matchday.
Incorporating the classic red and gold colors that symbolize the history of the Strikers, the hooped jerseys instantly take the fans back to the golden days of the club, when the shirt was worn by some of the greatest names in the game.
The 2016 secondary jersey is the first black kit to be used in league play in club history. The kit features the classic Strikers hoops in a dark gray and black combination with yellow trim throughout, creating a new twist on the traditional Strikers design. The top is paired with black shorts, and the option of black or yellow socks, bringing the total 2016 uniform combinations to five.
The Strikers' partnership with INARIA allowed the club's kit designers to have full control in creating a completely-custom design for both primary and secondary uniforms. INARIA is a soccer brand within the publicly traded Performance Sports Group (PSG) portfolio, and was established in 1999 with a strong presence in Toronto, but is rapidly expanding to service clubs across North America.
INARIA's niche is customization and it's capabilities to offer a unique look on the field. The company's founder, Saverio Michielli, has a rich history of custom tailor and suit designers within his family. Centered on an affinity for detail and emphasis on craftsmanship, Saverio saw an opportunity to extend those same values to the soccer uniform space.
The thoughtful detail featured on both shirts is proving to be an instant hit with the fans and players. Both jerseys feature a number of custom marks, including unique player name and number fonts, the "S-ball" tertiary logo on the upper back, woven North American Soccer League (NASL) patch on the sleeves, and flags on the lower left front.
Rendered in 3D rubber, the Strikers crest adds a new level of quality to the tops. Title partner Guaraviton graces the front of the kit, while the Azul Airlines logo is nestled under the number on the back.
Keepers Bruno Cardoso and Matias Reynares modeled the champagne and orange goalkeeper strips at the launch, just two of the colors in a wide variety of uniform options for the club's netminders this season.
The new 2016 jerseys are available for purchase now on Strkers.com/Shop, and will also be available at every Strikers home match.
The Fort Lauderdale Strikers kick off the 2016 NASL Spring Season against new regional rivals Miami FC at Lockhart Stadium this Saturday April 2, at 7:00 p.m. EDT. Tickets start at just $12 and are available at Strikers.com.
