Strikers to Play International Friendly in Haiti

Fort Lauderdale, FL (March 27, 2014) - The Fort Lauderdale Strikers today announced that the team will travel to Haiti this weekend to play Don Bosco FC in the newly renovated Parc St. Therese in Petion-Ville, Haiti. The team was invited by the Minister of Youth, Sports and Civic Action (MJSAC), Magalie Racine, the Mayor of Petion-Ville, Yvanca Jolicoeur Brutus and by Mr. Ford, the President of Don Bosco FC.

"We are honored to be invited to participate in this historic match at this newly renovated stadium in Haiti," said Strikers President Tom Mulroy. "We look forward to an exciting, educational and enjoyable trip for our team as we prepare for our upcoming season."

The match will take place on Sunday, March 30th at 7:00 p.m., and will mark the first international friendly played at the renovated stadium. Don Bosco FC plays in Division 1 Ligue Ha=EFtienne, the premier and highest football division in Haiti.

Petion-Ville is a suburb of Port-au-Prince in the northern hills of the Massif de la Selle, east and separate from the city.

The Strikers' 2014 Spring Season kicks off on April 12th at Lockhart Stadium against one of the NASL's new teams, Ottawa Fury FC, at 7:30 PM. Season Tickets are on sale by calling 954-606-0400 or at www.strikers.com.
