The Worcester Bravehearts finally had some real golden opportunities Saturday night to pull together a complete win They had quality starting pitching patient plate discipline and base runners A lot of them Worcester stranded 14 base runners in a 3-2 loss to the Bristol Blues during a wet and rainy evening at Hanover Insurance Park at Fitton Field.
The main story was the runners left on base for the Bravehearts leaving at least two men on base in the 1st 2nd 4th 6th and 8th innings No timely hitting would come from the home team in this game.
Mike Bruemmel Bridgewater MA Wheaton had a quality outing for Worcester however going six strong innings giving up two runs only one earned run giving up three hits and striking out seven batters He didn't factor in the decision for Worcester leaving the game with the score tied at 2-2.
Logan Fullmer Lebanon PA Maine came in relief of Bruemmel in the 7th inning After putting men at the corners Bristol's Jamie Timothy Cohasset MA Roger Williams grounded into a fielder's choice with one out to drive home the eventual winning run for the Blues Fullmer was tagged with the loss in the game.
