
Storms\' Evenson Notched as NIFL Defensive Player of the Week

The Sioux Falls Storm of the National Indoor Football League (NIFL) is pleased to announce linebacker Joe Evenson has been named the NIFL Defensive Player of the Week for his efforts in a 62-37 drubbing of the Utah Warriors last weekend.
Evenson, 6'0, 220 lbs. from Augustana College, was all over the field last Saturday night at the Sioux Falls Arena when he accounted for 12 total tackles, including two tackles for loss, one quarterback sack and one pass break up. To date, Evenson leads the Storm defense in total tackles with 62, and second on the team in interceptions with 3.
The Storm will travel to Rapid City this weekend for an I-90 showdown against the Black Hills Red Dogs. Currently the Red Dogs are 3-7 on the season, but are winners of their last two games. Black Hills is coming off a bye last weekend and took out the Utah Warriors 49-47 two weeks ago. The next Storm home game is Saturday, June 19 when division rival Omaha Beef enters the Sioux Falls Arena. Saturday, June 19 will be slated as "Father's Day Football Night" with the first 1,500 adult men receiving a Storm hat.
