Storm's Richey named co-MISL Goalkeeper of the Week

HOFFMAN ESTATES, Ill. - Chicago Storm goalkeeper Jeff Richey was recognized by the Major Indoor Soccer League for his latest gem in the net. The league announced Richey and Orlando's Paul Nagy as co-MISL Goalkeepers of the Week.

Richey saved 13 of 14 shots as the Storm defeated the league's top offense, the Detroit Ignition, 9-2, on Friday, Jan. 25, at the Sears Centre Arena. Richey has an 8-3 record in 11 starts. He also leads the league with 7.90 points allowed per game and a save percentage of 0.759.

Former Storm forward Jorge Valle of the Orlando Sharks earned this week's offensive player honors and Pat Morris of the Philadelphia KiXX garnered this week's defensive player award.

The Storm (11-6) travel to Baltimore for a 7 p.m. (CST) match Friday, Feb. 1, against the Blast. Then Chicago hosts the New Jersey Ironmen at 7 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 2, at the Sears Centre. Saturday is AthletiCo Health Night, and 2,500 fans receive a mini first aid kit. Halftime marks the Storm's annual Media vs. Mascots Game. Fox Soccer Channel broadcasts Saturday's match on tape delay, and the game airs Friday, Feb. 8.
