(Summerside, PE) The Summerside STORM continued their winning ways Friday night at Credit Union Place with a 123-106 home win over the Montreal Jazz in front of 1,711 fans.
The STORM's win streak has now hit 6 and their Atlantic Division leading record moves to 15-9, good for second overall in the NBL of Canada.
Six STORM players made it into double figures led by Chris Cayole and Omari Johnson, each with 18 points. Antonio Ballard added another double-double with 12 points and 10 rebounds on the night. Chris Hagan of Montreal led all scorers with 26 points.
Next action for the STORM is this coming Sunday afternoon at Credit Union Pace in Summerside when the Oshawa Power come to town for a 2pm tip-off.
Barb MacEachern of Wilmot Valley won the 50-50 draw on the evening taking home half of the $2,979 total pot. April Delaney won the Fly PEI/Travel Store "Shoot to Win" over Posty Connolly and had her name entered for a chance to win a trip for two to the Dominican leaving the Charlottetown Airport on March Break. Trevor Hogan won the Greco Pizza Prize, Pauline Poirer won the Wilsons Car Washes, while everyone with a ticket to tonight's game gets a free car wash tomorrow from Wilsons Fuels on Water St in Summerside as the STORM won. Also, everyone in Section G won a free slice of pizza at Greco in Summerside this Monday before 4pm.
The Summerside STORM will visit the UPWest Winterfest tomorrow from 12-3pm at the Rodd Mill River Resort while STORM will also be at the High School Boys AA Basketball Tournament tomorrow at Credit Union Place with games at 10am, 11:45am, 1:30pm, and 3:15pm and featuring teams from Three Oaks Senior High, Kensington High, Bluefield High, and Kinkora High.
