(Summerside, PE) The game was so good that four quarters was not enough for the 1,826 fans as the Summerside STORM won their regular season series over the London Lightning with a 123-118 win in overtime Thursday night at Credit Union Place in Summerside. The STORM and Lightning have played four times this season with the STORM winning three times.
Brandon Robinson had another big night for the STORM with 36 points and 11 rebounds with Omari Johnson scoring 23 and grabbing 12 boards. Josiah Turner, in his first start of the season, also scored 23 points. Marvin Phillips was the top gun for London scoring his teams first 12 points on his way to 32 on the night.
The game was also Easter Seals Night with the Easter Seals Ambassador, Paxton Cole, on hand to perform the ceremonial tip-off. The STORM donated tickets to Easter Seals which were sold at Tim Horton stores across PEI and ended up raising $1,750.
The STORM play their last regular season home game this Saturday night at Credit Union Place when the Halifax Rainmen visit for a 7pm starter. The game is fan appreciation night with lots of prizes to be drawn.
The nights 50-50 number will be posted on the STORM website with a total pot of $3,318. As the STORM were winners and went over 100 points, everyone with a ticket in section T gets a free slice of pizza from Greco on Monday between 11am and 4pm. Also, everyone in the building with a ticket will get a free carwash from Wilsons Fuels on Water St. in Summerside tomorrow. The Clarks Toyota Shoot for Cash was not won so the cash pot now builds to $350 for Saturdays game. Madalene Rogerson of Summerside was the Greco Pizza winner.
The STORM are out in the community tomorrow with a visit to Alberton Elementary School at 8:30am, a practice and shoot around at Queen Charlotte School in Charlottetown from 11:15 to 1pm, lunch at the Rodd Royalty 1:45pm, and a visit to BMO in Summerside at 4pm.
