Sioux Falls, SD- The Sioux Falls Storm won their first home game against the Billings Wolves with a 56-41 victory. The two teams traded shots throughout the game but the Storm would ultimately prevail.
Brandon Johnson-Farrell got the action started for the Storm with an 18-yard touchdown reception on the Storm's first offensive drive of the game. Billings quickly tied the game up 7-7 when Charle Davidson caught a nine-yard touchdown reception. With 1:58 left in the first quarter, Tory Harrison would give the Storm a 14-7 lead after a nine-yard rushing touchdown.
Starting the second quarter, the Wolves would strike first with a three-yard rushing touchdown by Lewis Regginald, tying the game at 14-14. Martevious Young would give the Storm a 21-14 lead after a five-yard rushing touchdown. The Wolves would score on their next two drives after Carl Simms caught both touchdowns, giving the Wolves' their first lead of the game at 28-21. With three seconds left in the half, Lorenzo Brown would score on a two-yard quarterback keeper, tying the game at 28.
The Storm was the first to score in the second half and with what would be the only score in the third quarter, with a one-yard run by Cory Johnsen, helping the Storm regain the lead 35-28. Sioux Falls would score on their next two drives after a receiving touchdown by Judd Harrrold and a rushing touchdown by Tory Harrison, increasing the lead to 49-28. Billings would close in on the Storm after D. A. Allen caught a 20-yard touchdown, bringing the score to 49-35. James Terry scored with 1:04 left in the game on a two-yard rush, increasing the Storm's lead to 56-35. The Wolves' fate was sealed after Jamel Johnson scored the last touchdown of the game with a 27-yard touchdown reception, making the final score 56-41.
Harrison finished the game with 93 yards on 20 carries and two touchdowns. Storm quarterback, Martevious Young, threw one touchdown, and rushed for one. Judd Harrold finished the game with four receptions for 35 yards and one touchdown.
The Storm improves to 4-0 on the season while the Wolves fall to 0-3. The Storm returns to action Saturday, April 11th when they face the Colorado Ice. Kickoff is set for 7:05 p.m.
