Seattle Storm News Release

UPCOMING OPPONENTS

The Storm will look for a fourth consecutive win over Indiana and their second straight season sweep of the Fever when they travel to Indianapolis on Thursday. Seattle got a double-double from Janell Burse and made a franchise-record 31 free throws in an 83-77 win over Indiana on June 4. The Storm are 7-2 all-time against the Fever, but just 2-2 in Indiana.

Seattle dropped its first four meetings with the Liberty, but has gone 3-1 since, including an 87-78 victory at KeyArena on July 19. Iziane Castro Marques poured in a career-high 20 points, and the Storm used a 26-2 first-half run to break the game open. The Storm posted an 86-62 win at Madison Square Garden on June 15, 2004, their first ever in New York. The 24-point margin is their largest victory over the Liberty to date.

PLAYER OF THE WEEK

Storm center Janell Burse earned WNBA Player of the Week honors after averaging 20.0 points and 7.5 rebounds in two games last week. Burse poured in a career-high 27 points on 11-for-13 shooting in the Storm's win over Charlotte, and grabbed nine rebounds (seven on the offensive end) two nights later against Los Angeles. The award is the first of Burse's career and the second for the Storm this season (Lauren Jackson, June 6).
