January 12, 2009 - Indoor Football League (IFL)
Sioux Falls Storm News Release

Sioux Falls Storm Vice President and General Manager, Ryan Rickert, will have a busy weekend. He will head down to Dallas, Texas for league meetings with other team executives to discuss plans for the 2009 Indoor Football League season; and then he'll take a flight from Dallas to Park City, UT to join the Nick Rallis Trio to play at star-studded parties at the annual Sundance Film Festival.

Rickert and the Nick Rallis Trio, which is made up of local musician, Nick Rallis, Paul Tims and Ryan are relatively new to the music scene in Sioux Falls as a group but have enjoyed quick success with a full book months in advance. The opportunity to play at the Sundance Film Festival came about a month ago when the trio was playing at Tre Lounge. Some Hollywood visitors were in the crowd and were in charge of planning some events at the festival. Rickert, Rallis and Tims will be guests at some parties on Friday night which will also host stars like, Wesley Snipes, Richard Gere and Ethan Hawk. Saturday the Nick Rallis Trio will be the band for a party in front of 200 of Sundance Film Festival's elite Actors, Directors, and Producers. Rickert says, "The last few months have been a whirlwind for us, but we are having way too much fun. This opportunity is once in a life time! We get to perform for all of these stars, it's going to be a blast!"

The band who plays an eclectic mix of music styles from, Dave Mathews to Trevor Hall to The Kooks to their own originals, is currently working on their first CD (First Group CD after Nick Rallis' solo CD) and plan on releasing it sometime in Spring 2009. Your next opportunity to catch them in Sioux Falls is at Rookies on January 23rd.
