Sioux Falls Storm News Release
The Sioux Falls Storm (10-0) will take on the Wyoming Cavalry (6-4) in a cross-conference matchup with serious playoff implications. If the Storm win, they will clinch the top-seed in the United Conference and have a first-round bye and home field advantage in the playoffs.
Last weekend, the Storm defeated the Green Bay Blizzard, 57-38. In the game, quarterback Chris Dixon threw for 218 yards and four touchdowns, while also rushing for one. James Jones added 44 yards and two touchdowns as well on the ground. On the receiving end, James Terry caught 11 passes for 132 yards and two touchdowns, helping to ease the absence of Carl Sims, who recently departed for the Canadian Football League. For the defense, Rachman Crable recorded two sacks to lead the team, while Jovan Jackson tallied 12 tackles and one interception.
The Cavalry is coming off a 59-39 victory over the Seattle Timberwolves. The Cavalry was led by a balanced rushing attack, as Joe McClain, Johnny Wood and Josh Schleusner each scored one touchdown on the ground and rushed for 39, 37 and 33 yards, respectively. Matt Strand led the team in passing with 138 yards and four touchdowns. On the defensive side of the ball, Andre' Moyd led the team with 11 tackles.
"It's exciting to renew this old rivalry," said Storm Owner, Todd Tryon. "Wyoming is one of the few franchises that have been around as long as we have. They do things the right way, and this should make for a very competitive game."
The Storm returns to Sioux Falls next week for the regular season home finale versus the Wichita Wild at 7:05 pm on Saturday, May 28. Regular Season single game tickets are on sale at the Sioux Falls Arena Box Office, and playoff ticket packages can be purchased by visiting www.siouxfallsstorm.com.
