Storm Signs Draft Pick Coleman

(Charlottetown, PE) The Island STORM announced today the signing of Jordan Coleman, their 1st pick and 12th overall, from the recent NBL Canada Draft in Vaughan, Ontario.
Coleman, a 6'5" guard from North Hollywood, California, played one year at the University of Hawaii and his last two at Valparaiso University in Indiana.
During his last year at Valparaiso, Coleman averaged 8 points, 3.5 rebounds, and only 1.2 turnovers per game. Coleman shot 41% from the floor and nearly 80% from the free throw line. His best game for Valparaiso came last year when he scored 16 points against James Madison University while adding 4 assists and 2 steals.
After seeing Coleman play this summer, STORM Head Coach Joe Salerno was pleased to be able to draft him. "Jordan was a great get for us in the second round of this year's draft. I had actually seen Jordan earlier in the summer at a combine we ran in Los Angeles, he impressed me enough that I asked him to come and play for me in the MSA International combine I was working in Las Vegas the next week. The more I saw Jordan play, the more I liked his game so you can imagine how excited we were when he was still available at the 12th overall pick."
Salerno went on to say, "Jordan brings a ton of athleticism to the perimeter for us. He has an uncanny ability to finish everything around the rim, and shoots the three with consistency. If Jordan can bring an aggressive approach to the game night in and night out, he can be a very dangerous player. We are very pleased we were able to come to terms with him, and look forward to getting him to PEI for camp."
Season tickets for the upcoming season, which starts Thursday November 6th in Charlottetown at Eastlink Centre against the Saint John Mill Rats, are now on sale. Meanwhile, single game tickets to STORM Basketball go on sale Monday October 6th.
