Sioux Falls Storm News Release
SIOUX FALLS, SD - The Sioux Falls Storm is pleased to announce the signing of kicker Chase Vinatieri for the 2021 season.
Vinatieri (6'2, 215) is entering his rookie season with the Storm. Chase played collegiately at South Dakota State University where he earned HERO Sports All-America First Team and All-Missouri Valley Football Conference Second Team honors in 2017. Chase is the Jackrabbits' All-Time leader in points by a kicker (362) and extra points made (221) and also ranks third in career field goals (47).
Chase is a graduate of Roosevelt High School. While at Roosevelt, Chase excelled both as a kicker and wide receiver. He earned All-State honors as a kicker as junior and was a two-time Honorable Mention All-State honoree as a receiver. In 2014, he was named to Sioux Falls Argus Leader Elite 45 after catching 43 passes for 713 yards and eight touchdowns as Roosevelt advanced to the state championship.
"Chase is homegrown talent and is a kicker that has the talent to get a shot in the NFL," said Head Coach Kurtiss Riggs. "We feel like we can help Chase get that opportunity."
