
Storm Set for United Way Game

KEARNEY, NE -The Tri-City Storm is set to host its annual United Way Game against the league-leading Fargo Force this afternoon at the Viaero Center. Storm players will wear specialty sweaters during the matchup. The game-worn jerseys will be auctioned off in both a postgame auction, and an online auction. Tickets specials for today's game include a Nebraska Lottery Family 4-Pack. The ticket deal includes four tickets, four hot dogs, four sodas, and two Nebraska Lottery Scratch-Off Tickets for $40. Tickets to today's game are still available, and may be purchased online at www.StormHockey.com, or by calling the Viaero Center Box Office at 308-338-8144. The Storm has posted back-to-back four-goal victories over the Force in the opening two games of the weekend series, and will seek a three-game sweep of the league leaders this afternoon. Puck drop for today's battle is scheduled for 3:05pm CT.
Tri-City (28-17-3-3) shut out Fargo in last night's matchup by a final score of 4-0 at the Viaero Center. Goaltender Cameron Korpi recorded his first shutout as a member of the Storm after turning away all 24 of the Force's shots on net. Jake Richard, Dane Dowiak, Evan Werner, and Daimon Gardner each netted a goal in the victory for Tri-City. The Storm improved to 16-2-1-2 when leading after the 1st period, and 24-0-1-0 when leading after the 2nd period this season in last night's four-goal win on home ice. The Storm has posted an 8-1-1-0 record over the past ten games, and is 11-3-1-0 in home games played against the Force over the last five seasons. Tri-City holds a 3-3-1-0 record in head-to-head matchups against Fargo in this year's series. Today's game is the final meeting between the two teams in this year's eight-game season series. Scoring leaders for Tri-City entering today's fifty-second game of the regular season include Jake Richard (28), Graham Gamache (18), Evan Werner (17), Trevor Connelly (16), and Kieran Cebrian (14).
Fargo (36-11-2-4) has dropped three consecutive games for the first time this season, and seeks a bounce-back victory in today's matinee at the Viaero Center. Saturday's result marked the second time in the 2022-2023 regular season that Fargo has been blanked in a matchup. The Force dropped a 5-0 decision on the road against the Lincoln Stars on January 6th, 2023. Fargo holds a 12-17-1-0 record in head-to-head matchups against Tri-City over the last five seasons. The Force dropped last year's series with a final record of 2-6-0-0 in eight games played. Scoring leaders for Fargo entering this afternoon's final game of the weekend include Cole Knuble (27), Bret Link (22), Anthony Menghini (20), Owen Mehlenbacher (16), and Kyle Smolen (15).
