Cedar Rapids RoughRiders News Release

Congratulations to RoughRiders alum, Max Sasson, on signing a two-year entry level contract with the Vancouver Canucks.

The Vancouver Canucks announced on Sunday that they have signed top NCAA free agent, Sasson, to a two-year entry-level contract. Sasson, a 22-year-old center, is considered one of the most promising prospects in this year's free agent class, and the Canucks are thrilled to have him on board.

Sasson posted an impressive 15 goals and 42 points in 38 games this season with Western Michigan, showcasing his skill and potential as an up-and-coming talent. With his solid scoring abilities and strong playmaking skills, the Canucks are confident that he will be a valuable asset to the team both on and off the ice.

Under the terms of the contract, Sasson will report to AHL Abbotsford for the remainder of the current season, where he will continue to develop his skills and gain valuable experience. While the bulk of the 2023-24 campaign is expected to be spent in the AHL, Sasson could potentially push for a depth role on a rebuilding Vancouver team.

Fans of the Vancouver Canucks can look forward to seeing Sasson in action in the near future as he begins his journey with the team. The organization is confident that he will make a significant impact on the ice and help drive the team towards future success.

The RoughRiders are proud to have Max join the long list of former RoughRiders who play or have played in the NHL.
