Storm Set for Rematch with I-29 Rival

The Sioux Falls Storm (13-1) is back at the Storm Shelter Saturday night as they welcome the Omaha Beef (10-5) for a 7:05 kickoff in the second round of the Indoor Football League playoffs. The game is sponsored by Tryon Gym. This is the third time these teams will meet this season, and they have split the past two matchups, with each team winning at home.

The Storm comes off a bye week for the first round of the IFL playoffs. Prior to that suffering its lone defeat of the season to the Omaha Beef in Omaha, Neb., 41-37 on June 11. In the game, quarterback Chris Dixon threw for 168 yards and three touchdowns, while also rushing for 62 yards and another score. James Jones added another rushing touchdown and 24 yards. For the receivers, Dusty Hovorka led the team with two scores, while James Terry added one touchdown on six receptions for 60 yards. For the defense, Brian McIntire led the team with 10 tackles while Rachman Crable added one sack and five tackles.

The Beef are coming off a 39-34 victory over the Bloomington Extreme in the first round of the playoffs. James McNear threw for 151 yards and three touchdowns, while also tossing one interception. McNear also led the team with 87 yards rushing and one score. Wide Receiver Maurice Avery led the team with four catches for 33 yards and two scores, while Michael Phillips' eight tackles led the defense.

"This is what rivalries are all about," said Storm Owner, Todd Tryon. "Saturday night can't come soon enough."

The team that wins will continue their season July 9, 2011 in the United Conference Championship game, hosted by the team with the best record in the conference.
