Sioux Falls Storm News Release
The Sioux Falls Storm is excited to announce that Chris Dixon has been named the IFL 2011 M.V.P. and Offensive Player of the Year.
Dixon has had an outstanding first year with the Storm leading the team to a 13-1 record and a 2011 playoff run. The quarterback totaled 2,856 passing yards for 74 touchdowns and 448 rushing yards for 21 touchdowns all in the regular season. The remarkable numbers made Dixon the single season passing record holder for touchdowns and passing yards for the Sioux Falls Storm. 2011 marks the third time that Dixon has received the honor of being name M.V.P. of his league. He was named the 2008 UIF M.V.P. as well as 2009 IFL M.V.P.
"Chris's unprecedented numbers speak for themselves," said Storm Owner, Todd Tryon. "What we are most proud of was his leadership in the locker room as well as off the field. Chris helped launch our T.K.O. program that had him in 15 local schools reaching an estimated 4200 students. Chris signifies what a character athlete is all about."
