Storm Send Big New Years Eve Crowd Home Happy

Summerside Storm News Release


(Summerside, PE) 2,517, the largest STORM crowd of the season, saw the Summerside STORM move back into first place in the Atlantic Division of the NBL of Canada with a 114-101 win over the Montreal Jazz New Years Eve in Summerside.

Brandon Robinson led the way for the STORM with 22 points while Greg Plummer scored 17. J.R. Harrison was the top point getter for the Jazz with 20 points.

Johnny Dugay of Kinkora won the years largest 50-50 to date taking home half of $5,358.00. Tim Hockins won the Fly PEI/Travel Store Shoot to Win and has his name entered in the draw for a trip for two to Porta Plata during March Break week. Everyone at the game with a ticket won a free car wash tomorrow from Wilsons Fuels on Water St. in Summerside as the STORM won tonight. Also, everyone in Section H won a slice of pizza from Greco Pizza as the STORM won AND Scored over 100 points. Fans can take their ticket stubs to Greco in Summerside this coming Monday for their free slice.

The STORM are taking in a number of New Years Levees tomorrow and the following is the schedule:

* Silver Fox Curling and Yacht Club at 1pm

* City of Summerside City Hall at 2pm

Charlottetown Group

* Lt. Governors' Levee at Province House at 10:30am

* City of Charlottetown City Hall at 11:30am

* UPEI at 12:30pm

* Premiers Levee at Confederation Centre of the Arts at 3pm

* Supper at Pizza Delight at 6pm for all

The STORM play at home next on Friday January 18th when the Montreal STORM come back to Credit Union Place for a game at 7pm.
