
Storm Revamps D-Line

The Storm is pleased to announce the return of second year defensive lineman James Dunlap.
Dunlap (6'3", 255lbs) was a pleasant sight for the Storm in his debut last season as he amassed a total of 36 tackles, 22 of those being solo tackles. Dunlap also racked up a total of 3.5 sacks in his first season. After starting in all 10 games as a true freshman at Citrus Community College Dunlap redshirted his sophomore season. Dunlap ultimately transferred to UNLV in 2009 and saw immediate action, playing in all 12 games for the Rebels. In 2010 Dunlap started in 12 of the 13 Rebel games and accounted for 38 tackles. Throughout his career as a Rebel Dunlap racked up 47 tackles, 22 of those being solo tackles.
Along with Dunlap the Storm will also be bringing on four new defensive linemen as well.
Rony Nelson (6'2", 258lbs) will be a rookie to the IFL atmosphere this year. In 2008 Nelson attended the Yuba Community College in California. As a sophomore Nelson led the California Community College Athletic Association in sacks with 16.5, and tackles for loss with 24.5. In 2010 Nelson transferred to Iowa State where he redshirted for his first season. In Nelson's last two seasons he played in every game and finished his career as a Cyclone with 25 tackles, 7 tackles for loss, and 3 sacks.
Emilious Davis (6'2", 268lbs) attended the University of South Dakota in 2012 after spending the previous three years at Feather River Community College. During Davis's time at Feather River he was a two-time All-California player, two-time Mid-Empire first team selection, and also a two-time All-Conference honoree. Davis also broke the Feather River school record in sacks with 21.5, and tackles for loss. In his first, and last, year at USD Davis played in all 11 games for the Coyotes, and finished second among defensive linemen in tackles with 35.
Caesar Rodriguez (6'3", 245lbs) played all four years collegiately at Central Michigan University. A letter winner all four years Rodriguez was a dominant presence throughout his collegiate career. In 2012 Rodriguez was named the team Defensive Upfront Player of the Year. During his time at Central Michigan Rodriguez accounted for 82 tackles, 14 tackles for loss, and also forced a fumble.
Akeem Ward (6'3", 275lbs) will be rounding out the incoming defensive linemen, and also another graduate of Winston-Salem State. Ward was a three-year starter for the Rams, and was awarded All-Conference honors as a senior. Akeem finished his last two seasons as a Ram by accumulating 83 total tackles, 24.5 tackles for loss, and 10.5 sacks.
