Storm on the Road to NBL Finals

(Summerside, PE) The Summerside STORM are travelling today with their next stop, the NBL Finals which open Saturday night in London, Ontario against the Lightning. Game two of the series will also be played in London on Sunday night.

The Lightning finished first overall in the NBL this season which earned them home court advantage through the play-offs. They disposed of the Moncton Miracles in four games in their best of five semi-final, winning game four on the road in Moncton.

The STORM finished second overall in the league this season and played a gruelling five game series against the Windsor Express with the fifth and deciding game, a 109-103 thriller, in front of a frenzied crowd at Credit Union Place.

The STORM and Lightning played four times during the regular season with the STORM winning three of the four meetings.

Tickets for games three and four back at Credit Union Place are on sale at the Credit Union Place box-office or by going online at the STORM website or by calling 902-432-1234. Fans in the Eastern part of Prince Edward Island can also purchase a ticket and bus trip combo to ride the STORM Express to the game on Wednesday evening. The STORM Express leaves the Rodd Royalty Inn at 5:45 pm for the game with a tailgate party starting at 5 pm at the Rodd. Tickets for the STORM Express, sponsored by Superior Coach Lines and the Rodd, can be purchased at the Rodd Royalty Inn anytime up to 5:45 pm Wednesday.

The opening game of the NBL Finals Saturday night in London can be seen by STORM Fans any number of ways. Rogers TV in Ontario will televise both games, Saturday and Sunday, from London with Eastlink Television picking up the Rogers feed for Prince Edward Island viewers. Air time for the Saturday night game is set at 8 o'clock (AST) while the Sunday game goes at 8:30 pm (AST).

STORM Fans can also view the game online by visiting the STORM website and following the live webcast links. Fans can also make a night out of the STORM game by going to the Oval Restaurant and Bar located above Red Shores at Credit Union Place or by going to Ise's Sports Bar in Charlottetown. Both establishments have big screens to view the games Saturday and Sunday evenings.
