Storm Lose Close One to Mill Rats

(Summerside, PE) The Saint John Mill Rats withstood a late rally by the Summerside STORM to move into first place in the Atlantic Division with a 108-106 win over the STORM at Harbour Station Sunday afternoon in Saint John.

The STORM had three shots within the last 30 seconds to try and tie the game but just couldn't get the ball to go down.

Brandon Robinson led the STORM attack with 24 points and 8 rebounds. Greg Plummer had 23 points while Antonio Ballard had another double-double scoring 16 points and grabbing 19 rebounds in the game.

Joe Posey was the main man fro Saint John scoring 23 points while teammate Anthony Anderson had 19. The STORM took a six point lead into the second half.

The Mill Rats now lead the Atlantic division by a half game over the STORM with a record of 9-7. the STORM are at 9-8 while Moncton sits in third at 9-10 with Halifax in fourth at 7-9.

The STORM now return to Credit Union Place in Summerside for three games over Christmas week with games on Boxing Day at 2 pm against Halifax, Friday December 28th vs Moncton at 7 pm, and New Years Eve at 7 when Montreal makes its first visit to Prince Edward Island.

Meanwhile, the STORM in partnership and support from the City of Summerside has launched "STORM PLAYDAY 2012" from 1 to 4 pm on Thursday, December 27th. STORM PLAYDAY 2012 is free and open to all Island youth, parents, grandparents, friends and visitors. PLAYDAY 2012 will feature all STORM coaches and players. A fun affordable afternoon is being planned for all. Additional details and activities will be released leading up to PLAYDAY 2012 through Island media, Twitter, Facebook and www.stormbasketball.ca

"STORM PLAYDAY" is part of a terrific STORM Christmas Week with STORM home games on Boxing Day, December 26th at 2pm, Friday, December 28th at 7 pm, and New Year's Eve December 31st at 7pm.

The STORM will be holding a "Meet and Greet" for Season Ticket Holders prior to our game on Friday December 28th at Courtside beginning at 5:15pm. You are invited to come and to meet your favorite STORM Players, Coaches and Owners, take a dressing room tour and enjoy some pizza and refreshments. This is one of several benefits provided to valued season ticket holders throughout the season with details on future events coming to you soon. We are pleased that as an added bonus the STORM will be offering free reserved parking for our Season Ticket Holders (based on availability) during our New Years' Eve game on December 31st. With a great crowd anticipated this benefit we hope will help your New Year's game experience be the best ever.

Parking will be in parking lot B, located next to MacAusland's, access will be on MacLeod Street, off of Greenwood Drive. Season Ticket holders will need to show their tickets to the volunteers to gain access.
