ATLANTA, April 13, 2010 - The World Basketball Association Exposure League (WBA) announces its newest team, the MARIETTA STORM!

On May 14th, the WBA's exciting addition will play its first game against 2009 WBA Championship finalists; the Tupelo, Miss. Rock N Rollers in Marietta. An official Marietta Storm Tryout Camp for men 18 and over will be held at the Northwest Cobb YMCA at 1700 Dennis Kemp Lane in Kennesaw, Ga. April 24 from 6-10 p.m. There will also be tryouts for the Marietta Storm's dance team. On-site registration is $50 for basketball and $25 for dancers. Former Harlem Globetrotter, NBA and international player Lionel Garrett and owner Melvin Breeden promise an action packed season of family friendly entertainment featuring some of the country's top rising hoop stars, performances by local recording artists, fan interaction, a live DJ, dance team exhibitions and many other special fan surprises!

"The NEW Marietta Storm team will provide a fresh form of exciting family fun entertainment for the Marietta community and Cobb County as a whole," said Breeden.

Tickets are $5 for general admission, children 6 and under get in free and any student wearing ANY Marietta team jersey gets in free for the season opener and for $3 for subsequent home games. The Storm offers a VIP ticket for $10, a Family Pack of four tickets at $16 per game, season tickets for $45 and special group rates are available by contacting the Marietta Storm offices at (404) 840-4391. Marietta Storm sponsors include area businesses such as Bailey's Pub and Grill, Big Cat Records, Ocular Sports Crossover Mentoring and Trea Day Management & Publicity. The mission of the WBA Exposure League is to teach, develop, and expose basketball players to NBA, D-League, CBA, and international scouts while providing each community with an exciting brand of basketball and entertainment. The WBA serves as a training ground to develop players and coaches on and off the court. Emphasis is placed on fundamental development, community involvement and most importantly exposure for the players. Over 400 WBA players have gone on to play professionally overseas, in the CBA, D-League, and the NBA.

WBA teams are comprised of talented athletes with a maximum of five years professional experience. WBA exposure teams have produced and worked with top coaches, such as former Rome Gladiators owner Theo Ratliff, the Rome Gladiators' successful coach Harold Ellis, who in 2009 joined the NBA's Detroit Pistons coaching staff and standout players who made it to the next level, including Jamario Moon and Kenyon Gamble, who played with the WBA's former Magic City Court Kings and now plays with the Manchester Millrats of the PBL. Other star athletes include Josh Powell, who signed with the L.A. Clippers, former Atlanta Hawk Anthony Grundy, and Kyle Davis of the New Jersey Nets.
