Storm Host Stars for 2020 Home Opener at Viaero Center

Kearney, NE - The Tri-City Storm host the Lincoln Stars tonight at the Viaero Center in Kearney for the Home Opener to the 2020-2021 regular season. With a limited seating capacity and social distancing measures in place, ticket sales are going fast and tonight's game is expected to sell out. Tickets to tonight's game can be purchased by calling the Viaero Center Box Office at 308-338-8144 or by visiting www.StormHockey.com. The Viaero Center Box Office will open at 12pm today for fans wishing to purchase tickets in person. Puck drop is scheduled for 7:05pm.

Tri-City (1-1-0-0) dropped a 5-1 decision last night at Ralston Arena to the Omaha Lancers. Matthew Knies scored the Storm's only goal of the game on the power-play in the 3rd period. Victor Czerneckianair and Adam Klapka assisted on the goal. During the preseason, Tri-City won all four home games played at the Viaero Center, including a 9-0 win over the Lincoln Stars in the final game of the exhibitions season on Halloween Night. Tri-City is 2-0-0-1 in Home Openers under Head Coach Anthony Noreen. Following tonight's Home Opener, the Storm will return to action tomorrow afternoon in a home matchup against the Waterloo Black Hawks.

Lincoln (0-0-0-0) opens play in the 2020-2021 regular season in tonight's road game against the Storm. Lincoln completed the preseason with an 0-6-0-0 record and was outscored by a margin of 32-5. The Stars dropped games to the Storm in the exhibition schedule on October 17th, October 23rd, and October 31st. Lincoln finished the 2019-2020 regular season in 5th place in the Western Conference and finished the year with a final record of 23-20-3-2. The Stars were 2-3-0-0 against the Storm in the 2019-2020 regular season. Tonight's game will be the official debut for 1st Year Lincoln Stars Head Coach Chris Michael.

A limited amount of tickets are available for tonight's Home Opener against the Lincoln Stars and tomorrow's home game against the Waterloo Black Hawks. Seating capacity at the Viaero Center will be limited to 25% for both home games this weekend. Fans wishing to attend the games are strongly encouraged to purchased tickets online or at the Viaero Center Box Office prior to each game. Masks are required to enter the arena, while walking on the concourse, in the restrooms, and while in line at the concession stands. Although masks are not required once you are sitting down in the seats, the Tri-City Storm & the Viaero Center strongly recommend masks are worn while seated. The first 1,000 fans at tonight's game will receive a free mask courtesy of Viaero Wireless. Drink specials at the game will include; $2 Busch Light, $2 Soda/Water, $4 Well Drinks.
