Lake Elsinore - The Lake Elsinore Storm couldn't get the bats alive like the High Desert Mavericks did tonight as the Mavs had 13 hits and scored 11 runs in the 11-2 victory at the Diamond. Tommy Medica went 3-for-4 in the form of three doubles on the night with an RBI. Medica has now extended his hitting streak to 27 games in which he is batting .379 for the Storm.

High Desert jumped out to a three-run lead in the top of the first inning beginning with a double down the left field line by Brad Miller. A walk by Jack Marder and a double steal for both runners allowed Miller to score on a John Hicks single to short stop for the first run. Designated Hitter Dennis Raben hit a double for his only hit of the game scoring Marder and Mike McGee grounded out to score Raben for the 3-0 lead Mavs.

Two runs scored in the fourth highlighted by a Mickey Wiswall home run and another run in the fifth when Marder scored on a wild pitch gave High Desert a 6-0 lead.

In the sixth John Hicks hit a ball out of play in left where there was a misplay and he came all the way around to score as the Mavs took a 11-0 lead.

Taylor Stanton went six innings for High Desert with three hits and struck out four in the win.

Rico Noel scored in the eighth to end the shutout after reaching base on a single and scored off Medica's third double of the night.

Michael Wing doubled in the ninth and scored off a Connor Powers sacrifice fly to right field for the final run of the night.

Come out to The Diamond tomorrow as the Storm look to set the world record of amount of people "Tebowing" at one time during our Night of Fellowship. The Storm will close out the series against the High Desert Mavericks and will enjoy postgame fireworks when gates open at 6:05 p.m.
