
Storm Edge Rangers 4-3 in Overtime

Michael Latta scored the game-winning overtime goal at 3:08 to edge the Guelph Storm 4-3 over the Kitchener Rangers.
The Rangers' Ryan Murphy scored the lone goal of the first period, a power play goal at the 14:35 mark. This was Murphy's sixth goal of the season. Shots on net for the period were 13-13.
The Storm's Francis Menard scored at the 5:21 mark of the second period to tie the score at 1-1. Guelph's Michael Latta gave the Storm a 2-1 lead with a short-handed goal at 17:46. Dan Kelly levelled the score 2-2 just over a minute later on a Rangers power play. The Storm had a shooting edge of 12-11 in the period. Kitchener and Guelph exchanged power play goals in the third period to push the game into overtime. Tyler Carroll beat Rangers netminder Mike Morrison over the shoulder just past the midway mark to put Guelph up 3-2. John Moore replied for the Rangers when he buried a shot from the point at 14:53.
Latta gave Guelph the win at the 3:08 mark of over-time action.
The Rangers travel to Owen Sound for a 7:30pm game against the Attack tomorrow and Oshawa on Sunday, February 21 to face the Generals at 2:05pm. They will return home to play the Ottawa 67's on Friday, February 26th.

As the devastation from the Haiti earthquake continues to unfold, the Mennonite Central Committee (MCC) is undertaking a multi-million dollar, multi-year response to provide emergency assistance, long-term care and trauma support. Prior to the game on Friday, February 26th, MCC and Operation: Cooperation will be collecting donations of personal hygiene items, cotton sheets and towels. Their national goal is to collect and distribute 20,000 relief kits to the thousands of Haitians left homeless and living outside.
