Storm Drop Fourth Straight Game in Road Loss to Musketeers

Sioux City, IA. - The Tri-City Storm dropped a season-high fourth consecutive game Wednesday night at the Tyson Events Center in a 3-1 road loss to the Sioux City Musketeers. Matthew Knies scored Tri-City's only goal in the game. The Storm return home on Friday for the final home game of the regular season at the Viaero Center.

Sioux City outshot Tri-City 11-5 in the 1st period and 14-6 in the 2nd period of Wednesday night's game. Neither team scored a goal in the0 opening two periods of the game and the 3rd period began with a 0-0 tie.

Brendan Olson netted his ninth goal of the season at 10:25 of the 3rd period to give Sioux City a one-goal advantage in the game. Bennet Schimek and Shai Buium recorded assists on the goal. With less than five minutes to play in Wednesday's game, Brian Carrabes scored his ninth goal of the season to give Sioux City a 2-0 lead. At 18:35 of the 3rd period, Matthew Knies scored his seventeenth goal of the season to cut Sioux City's lead in half. Gavin Brindley and Adam Klapka each recorded assists on the goal. With just over one minute remaining in the 3rd period, Chase Bradley scored an empty-net goal to secure a 3-1 home win for the Musketeers. Sioux City outshot Tri-City 12-10 in the 3rd period and 37-21 overall in the game.

Chase Clark made thirty-four saves on thirty-six shots and recorded the loss in net for Tri-City. Akira Schmid turned aside twenty of Tri-City's twenty-one shots on net to record the victory in goal for the Musketeers. Tri-City is now 30-16-3-1 with two games remaining in the regular season. The Storm finished the season series with a 5-3-0-0 record against Sioux City.

The Tri-City Storm remains one point away from clinching the fourth USHL Western Conference Regular Season Championship in the organization's history. One point in the standings over the final two games of the regular season will also give Tri-City the #1 seed on the Western Conference side of the 2021 Clark Cup Playoffs.
