Storm defeat Steamers 5-3 in Windy City

ST. LOUIS, MO – With three games to play on the road in as many days, this isn't the start the Steamers had hoped for. The Steamers were defeated 5-3 by the Chicago Storm Friday night (January 28) at UIC Pavilion in Chicago.

Mali Walton, D.J. Newsom and Ibrahim Kante scored for St. Louis. Mark Ughy scored twice for Chicago with Lazo Alvanja, Byron Alvarez, and Sandre Naumoski also contributing.

Brett Phillips took the loss in goal for the Steamers while Danny Waltman earned the win for the Storm.

The loss dropped the Steamers record to 12-8, putting them one-half game behind the Philadelphia Kixx in the MISL standings. The Steamers and Kixx clash in the first of two games Saturday at 6:05 p.m. (CST) in Philadelphia. The two teams tangle again Sunday at 4:05 p.m. (CST). Both games will be broadcast over KFNS 590-AM radio and can be heard on the internet at kfns.com. Saturday's game will be televised on KPLR-TV, WB-11.
