Storm Defeat Lancers 4-1 on Home Ice

Kearney, Neb. - The Tri-City Storm improved to 2-0 on home ice and 3-1 overall with a 4-1 victory over Omaha Friday night at the Viaero Center.

Playing on a sheet of ice painted by fans and members of the community to honor those affected by cancer, Tri-City jumped out to a one goal lead when Joey Cipollone netted his first goal of the season at 2:04 of the 1st period. The goal was assisted by Tyler Ward and Connor McMenamin.

Just 16 seconds in to the 2nd period, the Storm increased their lead to two goals when Ronnie Attard notched his 1st of the season, assisted by Jack Summers and Charlie Dovorany. Omaha would tighten things up later in the period with a goal by Tyler Carpenter at 16:18 of the 2nd Period. This brought the Lancers back to within one goal of Tri-City's lead.

The third period saw Adam Goodsir net his 2nd of the season, and Caleb Rule tally his 1st with an empty net goal with only 17 seconds left.

The Storm were backstopped by Filip Larsson, who picked up his 3rd win of the season after stopping 25 of 26 shots from Omaha.

Tri-City is in action again tomorrow night at the Viaero Center when they play host to rival Lincoln. Puck drop is at 7:35pm CT
