Storm Chasers Announce Omaha 20-Teens Team
January 29, 2020 - Pacific Coast League (PCL1)
Omaha Storm Chasers News Release
PAPILLION - The Omaha Storm Chasers experienced unprecedented success during the 2010s, winning four divisional crowns, three Pacific Coast League titles and back-to-back Triple-A National Championships.
The highest level of Minor League Baseball in the city dates back to 1955, when the Omaha Cardinals joined the American Association. And no decade of professional baseball since has equaled the one that just passed.
To honor this era, the Storm Chasers front office has selected the Omaha 20-Teens Team, a collection of the top players during the historic decade. The team consists of 15 players - eight position players, five pitchers, a utility player and a designated hitter. Most of its members have gone on to find success at the highest level.
Seven of the players have become MLB All-Stars, including some that helped the Kansas City Royals to the World Series title in 2015. They've combined to garner 18 All-Star selections and have won 17 Gold Gloves.
