Sioux Falls Storm News Release

The Sioux Falls Storm Indoor Football Team announced on Monday afternoon that Wide Receiver Donnie Corley Jr. has signed a contract for the 2024 Indoor Football League season.

Corley appeared in 27 games for the Storm over the past two seasons, hauling in 83 catches for 1,253 yards and 31 touchdowns. His touchdown total currently ranks ninth all-time in franchise history.

The Detroit, MI native appeared in 18 games for the Storm last season, racking up 60 receptions for 855 yards and 21 total touchdowns. His 20 regular season touchdown's were good enough for fifth most by a Storm player in single season history.

Corley had six games with multiple touchdowns in 2023 and ran up a streak of eight consecutive games with a receiving touchdown. He also put together a pair of 100+ receiver yard games during the 2023 season. Corley's May 6th performance at home against the Tulsa Oilers was one of the best individual performances by an IFL wideout last season. Corley finished the night with six catches for 127 yards and three touchdowns. He put up similar numbers three weeks later in a May 26th road game against the Iowa Barnstormers where he added six catches for 116 yards and four receiving touchdowns.

Corley provided some big plays for the Storm last season, but perhaps his biggest moment came in the final seconds of the IFL Eastern Conference Championship game in Frisco, TX.

The Storm scored a touchdown on a quarterback keeper with 12 seconds remaining in the fourth quarter, but still trailed the Frisco Fighters 44-43. Sioux Falls elected to go for two and the potential win rather than kick the extra point and play for overtime. Quarterback Lorenzo Brown Jr. found Corley Jr. on a dramatic trick play pass that sent the Storm to IFL National Championship game.

"Signing Donnie and getting him back in a Storm jersey was one of the biggest priorities of the offseason," said first year Head Coach, Andre Fields. "All of our wideouts were number one caliber guys, but if you had to choose, Donnie was certainly the closest thing to a true No. 1 receiver last season. He is versatile enough to play defense and he made some big time plays for us on special teams. We expect an All-IFL type of season out of number 6 in 2024."

The Corley signing marks the first official roster moves of the offseason for Storm, who will look to build upon last season's success as they prepare for another title run in the 2024 Indoor Football League season.
