Summerside Storm News Release
(Oshawa ON) The Storm have finally brokem their losing streak, winning over the Oshawa Power at The General Motors Centre tonight.
The game was a constant back and forth, with both teams hungry for a win. The beginning of the first quarter seemed promising as The Storm took an early five-point lead. However turnovers gave Oshawa the lead ending the quarter, 25-18. The Storm picked up the play in and the lead at just over two minutes into the third. They held it until late in the quarter, leaving Oshawa leading 77-73 going into the forth. The last quarter was hugely physical with a nail-biting end. The Power's Johnson hit a three pointer with two seconds left, Oshawa then fouled, and The Storm's Eric Gilchrese went to the line, hitting both. A sloppy foul put Lewis at the line for Oshawa, but he missed the second allowing The Storm to come out with the lead 101-100.
High scorer for The Storm was Mike Williams with 24, and it was Omari Johnson for Oshawa with 18.
The Storm play next in Quebec City on the 28th, then return home on the 31st to take on the Saint John Mill Rats. For more information and tickets visit www.stormbasketball.ca.
