Johnstown Chiefs News Release
Johnstown, PA (March 11, 2007) Ian MacLean's first goal of the season was also the Chiefs' first power play goal of the weekend, but it wasn't enough to beat the Toledo Storm, who left the Cambria County War Memorial Arena with a 4-2 victory Sunday evening.
Jeff Attard posted the first tally of the game at the 5:16 mark of the first period. Attard beat Chiefs goalie Ryan Munce on the power play with help from Nick Parillo and Matt Zultek.
Action picked up in the second period as each team registered two goals. Toledo edged out to a 2-0 lead on Jeremy Hall's second goal of the season at 7:48 of the second. Chris Blight and Bruce Mulherin assisted on the goal. Fifty-seven seconds later Zybnek Hrdel continued his mastery of Toledo goaltending with his fourth goal of the season against the Storm, and eighth overall with help from Gus Katsuras and Maxime Boisclair.
Toledo answered right back when T.J. Sakaluk potted his second goal of the year at the 17:07 mark of the second, getting assists from Zultek and Brent Sullivan. Boisclair picked up his second point of the game when he assisted on MacLean's power play goal at 18:14 of the second. That tally made Johnstown 1-for-6 on the power play for the game while Toledo was 1-for-4.
The only scoring in the third was Nick Parillo's empty netter with 13 seconds remaining in the game.
Ryan Munce took the loss for Johnstown while making 19 saves on 22 shots, and Logan Koopmans earned the win Toledo making 24 saves on 26 shots.
