Storm Back at Shelter to Face Extreme

The Sioux Falls Storm (8-0) hosts the Bloomington Extreme (7-2) in a matchup of the top two teams in the United Conference Saturday, May 7, at the Sioux Falls Arena at 7:05pm. The game is sponsored by Sioux Falls Surgical Hospital.

The Storm will be looking to stay undefeated and atop the IFL's Central West Division. Last week, the Storm defeated the Nebraska Danger 78-56 in Grand Island. In the game, quarterback Chris Dixon, threw for 157 yards and four touchdowns. That brings Dixon's season passing totals to 1671 yards and 44 touchdowns with only four interceptions. James Jones led the team in rushing last weekend with 49 yards and two touchdowns (Dixon also added three touchdowns with his feet). On the receiving end, Carl Sims had three receptions for 38 yards and one touchdown. Defensively, Brian McIntire lead the team with 12 tackles against the Danger, while Michael Bazemore and Tommy Chavis each added .5 sacks.

The Extreme is looking to rebound after a 20-18 loss to the Wichita Wild. In the game, Rocky Hinds threw for 170 yards, one touchdown and one interception. On the ground, Hinds also led the team with 28 yards on four carries. Johnny Gray caught eight passes, scoring on one of them, and totaled 52 receiving yards. Terrill Mayberry led the defense with eight tackles in the game.

"This is the game we have all been waiting for," said Storm quarterback, Chris Dixon. "There were a lot of expectations on both teams at the beginning of the season, so now we get see how we measure up to the Extreme."
