Storm at Rock River Raptors Preview

The Sioux Falls Storm of United Indoor Football (UIF) is looking to start the season 2-0 as they travel to Rockford, IL to take on the Rock River Raptors this Saturday night. Kickoff is scheduled for 7:30 PM and can be heard on AM 1230 KWSN or online by logging onto www.siouxfallsstorm.com and the "Listen Live" link.

Sioux Falls started the regular season by scoring the most points of any team in the league (51) as the Storm handed Omaha their worst home defeat in franchise history with a 51-29 final score last Friday. Shannon Poppinga led the dominant Storm defense with 2 INT's and 2.5 tackles while quarterback Terrance Bryant was 14-of-25 passing for 148 yards, 3 TD's and 1 INT. Bryant also rushed the ball 7 times for 18 yards and 1 TD.

Rock River started strong as well by defeating Evansville 47-36. The Raptors never trailed in the game as quarterback Ben Sankey completed 15-of-22 passes for 158 yards and threw for 4 TD's. Abe Adeyemo was on the receiving end of 8 of those passes and scored 3TD's in Rock River's Week 1 victory.

The home opener for the Storm will be Saturday, April 8 for a "Championship Re-Match" as the Sioux City Bandits enter the Sioux Falls Arena.
