Storm announces draft picks

Birch Run, MI (September 22, 2004) – The Great Lakes Storm completed the 2004 CBA Draft at the Frankenmuth Brewery last night. The Storm selected five players total (see page 2 for pictures), choosing Andre Brown, a 6-9 center from Depaul, with the third pick in the first round. The Storm had back-to-back selections in the second round choosing Brandon Mouton, a 6-4 guard from Texas, with the 11th pick, followed by second round NBA draft pick Rashad Wright, a 6-2 point guard out of Georgia. In the fourth round they chose Erik Daniels, a 6-8 small forward from Kentucky. Their final pick was in the fifth round, selecting Paul Haynes, a 6-8 forward out of Grambling, who resides in Pontiac, Michigan.

"We have selected high quality players, four of the five having been invited to NBA training camps," said Bergman. "If they don't make the final NBA rosters, we will welcome them into our camp and we will try our best to get them back to the next level, the NBA."

Players drafted by the Storm will report to training camp on Thursday, November 4th. They will compete with other free agents for a spot on the final roster which consists of ten players. Each team in the CBA is required to have at least one rookie on the roster.
