Sioux Falls Storm News Release
The RiverCity Rage come into Saturday's game vs. the Sioux Falls Storm on a five-game losing streak after starting the season 3-0. The Rage got off to a fast start last year as well by getting out to a 5-0 start on their way to finishing the season with a record of 9-6. The Storm handed RiverCity a 41-32 loss on April 26 in St, Charles, MO.
On offense, the Rage has been hit hard by the injury bug at the quarterback position. Last week's starter, Steve Rush, ignited the RiverCity offense as the team scored their season high of 42 points last week. Rush was injured in the ball game vs. Bloomington last week and is out for the game. This week's starter for the Rage is unknown at this time. The two leading receivers for the Rage are Moses Regular and Hurtis Chinn. Both receivers have nineteen receptions with four touchdowns each on the year. Chinn is also ranked second in all-purpose yards per game in the UIF.
Defensively for the Rage, linebacker Joe Bevis continues to make his presence felt. Bevis leads the UIF in tackles with 64, which is on pace for the third most tackles in a single season in UIF history. Bevis led the team with 9.5 tackles in the first meeting between the teams this season. Defensive back Milton proctor is tied for the league lead in interceptions with seven. Terrell Washington and Lee Hughes Jr. lead the defensive line, each having three sacks on the year.
The game can be heard on KOOL FM 107.9 with pre-game action starting at 6:45 PM. The game can also be heard online by visiting www.siouxfallsstorm.com. Saturday's action can be viewed by logging onto www.b2tv.com and buying the broadcast for $7. The Storm is again at home next Saturday as the Wichita Wild enters "The Storm Shelter". Kickoff is set for 7:05 PM. The game is SOLD-OUT, but tickets may be able to be obtained by calling the Storm office (332-4225) and taking advantage of the ticket exchange program.
