RiverCity Rage News Release

St. Charles, MO - The RiverCity Rage Professional Indoor Football Team heads to Sioux Falls, SD today as they take on the Storm Saturday night. The team will have a new look as seven of the 14 starters are either new to the roster this week or will be playing at a different position. Changes to the roster have become a regular occurrence for the Rage (3-5) recently as the team has been ravaged by injuries.

"We've got to go play ball," said Rage Head Coach Ken Stills. "We can't make excuses. Injuries happen to every team in every sport. But we have really been hit with the bug lately. We just have to survive these next couple of games. I am not concerned with our record right now. We are still in the playoffs as we sit right now. We just need to get there and make it a three game season where anything can happen."

The Rage are bringing two new quarterbacks to Sioux Falls as their starter for the past two games, Steve Rush, went down with a foot injury and will possibly miss the rest of the season. Their incumbent signal caller, Anthony Fisher, was injured on a similar play on April 19th and is still expected to miss two more weeks. The newcomers at quarterback are Chris Coffin and PeeJay Jack.

"Both of the quarterbacks we have brought in have a lot of indoor experience," added Stills. "They are both intelligent guys. We will have to keep things pretty basic on offense this week but I don't think either of them will have a problem picking up our schemes. I know it will take a monumental effort to come away with a win this weekend but I still refuse to accept defeat. We will get through this tough time and be a better team for it."

The next home game for the Rage is Saturday, May 31st as they host these same Extreme. The Rage have put together a new ticket campaign for underprivileged children in the area and are asking their corporate partners or individuals to purchase tickets that will in turn be donated to the Rage Children's Charities for that game. The charities include The Ronald McDonald House, Camp Sunrise via The TL Jones Foundation, the Boys and Girls Club and YMCA. The Rage will match any donation made by their partners in an effort to reach as many children as possible. Each company or individual also has the option of donating the tickets to a charity of their own choosing as well.
